Politicians, both Republican and Democrat have lost sight of what a Representative was meant to be.  The House of Representatives was designed by our Founding Fathers to be made up of EVERYDAY citizens who serve just a few terms and then go back to their homes to live with the decisions they made.  Unfortunately, we are a far cry from that scenario.  Our current career politicians form alliances and raise and spend incredible amounts of money to maintain their power.  They kowtow to special interest groups in order to line their pockets.  Just look at the public records of bank accounts and voting records.  Specifically, a look at Joe Donnelly's financial records will show how the millions of dollars of contributions he has received directly relate to his voting record.  Frankly, the more I look into it, the more appalled I am at what politics and politicians have become.  They are not representatives of the people, they are career bureaucrats who are power driven and bought with special interest money.  Furthermore, it is beyond the poor decisions around spending.  There are votes being cast on legislation that will affect Americans for generations to come without the people who are placing the votes actually reading what they are voting on!  In early childhood we are taught to read before we sign.  Evidently, that lesson was not learned by our current legislators.

Think about what has happened over the last several years.  There has been out-of-control government spending.  Over the past 2 years, the national debt has increased by $2.9 trillion while the unemployment rate has risen to a 26 year high.  All this spending promised economic recovery and a reduction of unemployment.  In reality, there has been a bail out of irresponsible financial institutions and a worsening of our national economic stability.  More people are out of work and owe more than they can pay back while politically connected insiders are being bailed out at the expense of every one of us!
